How To Add A Subdomain In Thiio

Purpose

This document guides users through the process of adding a subdomain in Thiio, detailing steps from logging into the Thiio account to finalizing the subdomain setup, including optional favicon integration. It serves to facilitate users in extending their domain structure within the Thiio platform efficiently.

Pre Requisites

  • A Domain

  • Access to the DNS settings

  • A Thiio account

  • A subdomain name

  • Favicon (optional)

Steps

  1. Log into your Thiio account.

  2. Use the left-hand column quick search bar to look for domains.

  3. Click on the domains menu option to open a new page.

  4. From here, click the blue + icon in the bottom right corner. This will open a form on the right-hand side.

  5. For select brand, click the drop-down and choose one of your existing brands to link the domain to.

  6. For the domain input, type your subdomain in here.

  7. Follow the instructions provided to create your A name record on your domain registrar's platform. Instructions for common platforms include:

    • GoDaddy: [LINK]

    • Namecheap: [LINK]

    • Squarespace: [LINK]
      *If you have another domain hosting platform, search their help documents for how to create an A name record.

  8. Ensure the A name record meets the following criteria:

    • The type is set to A.

    • The name is set to what ever you would like your subdomain to be.

      • In this case we used example as our desired subdomain

    • The value is set to 34.125.149.88

  9. (OPTIONAL) For favicon:

    • Click the gray box marked "favicon" to upload a png or jpg image as your favicon.
      This is the small icon that appears in the browser tab, typically a small version of your logo.

  10. Click the green save button in the top right corner of the page.

Note: It may take some time for your new subdomain to become active for use.
